Hungary is one of the 48 European countries participating in the Bologna Process, through which member countries have voluntarily committed to aligning their higher education systems. It consists of three sequential study cycles: bachelor’s » master’s » and doctoral degrees.

In the 2023 Times Higher Education international rankings, 1799 universities from 104 countries and regions were listed, making it the largest and most diverse university ranking to date. Four years ago just 7, today 11 Hungarian universities are among the world’s leading institutions.
